ATHell

Atlanta is pretty much the worse place to go, especially around 5 PM. I understand that that's sort of obvious, but you never appreciate Atlanta traffic until you experience it like I have the past couple of weekends. You could probably drive the state of Georgia from bottom to top in six hours. Bet on it being nine hours if you hit that dreaded time where everyone's trying to get home. On top of all that, it's not just traffic. It's dangerous traffic. I'm pretty appalled by some of the drivers on the road that I have witnessed going through Atlanta. I'm sure there are plenty of bad drivers in other parts of the state, but it seems like they show up to Spaghetti Junction when I'm over there.

Something I'd really like to know: do dogs count as passengers? I've got a golden retriever (Captain Awesome) whose sometimes with me when I'm driving down I-75. I'm pretty sure I'd have a convincing case if I ever got pulled over in the HOV lane. Whose to say a dog doesn't count? He's family enough. Are they going to really tell me that Capt. Awesome isn't a person?

So, this is apparently a blog about music too. I'm going to say that if you ever get stuck in Atlanta you need to pickup some kind of electronic music to keep you awake. That's what I do anyways.

Last time I was in Atlanta, Passion Pit got me through the unbearable traffic. It was actually really nice. I was listening to "Moth's Wings" while in non-moving traffic and got to admire the architecture there. I had a few architecture classes in another life and It's amazing to think that those buildings started out in someone's head. I really like that large church (I have no idea what it is called) right there on I-75 once you get out of downtown. I really wish I knew what it was called so I could upload a photo.

As for the song, I have no idea what it is about. It sounds like some kind of friend giving advice to someone. Probably someone the band knew.

Also, on the music front - check out Sea of Dogs. They're a new small-time band out of Athens, GA. I haven't decided how I feel about them yet. They are very folksy, which isn't always my thing. Hmm.

Also, I'm still not getting blogspot. I'm not content with the layout, but hopefully I'll get the hang of it and come up with something better.
