So, story time. Me and my brother were driving down Abercorn listening to his iPod. Hotel California came on. Not sure how this conversation came up, but we began to discuss the song's meaning. I said it was about purgatory. He said it was about rock-in-roll life. He thought he won the debate by citing wikipedia (ohhh... credible source... right?).
So here's the deal. My blog and wikipedia have about the same credibility (just roll with it), so even though he's probably right, it's up for you to take a listen and decide for yourself.

ReplyDeleteand all 3 of us and hear it clear as fucking DAY in the lyrics. many things point it out. i mean come on...right in the start... "could be heaven or hell" Or it could be neither, if you cant tell its fuckin purgatory !

Omg this is exactly what i told my bf! I know this is a few years late but we were on a road trip and he asked me what i thought about the song and i was just like dude its about purgatory... Some people ( my opinion ) when they die they dont remember that they're dead so they continued driving and arrived at Hotel California where they were never going to be able to check out cuz they between heaven and hell.
